The Designed Home is an interior styling and design company assisting clients in refreshing their homes one project at a time.

With each consult and/or design plan, clients receive designs that are classic and timeless, bring form and functionality to the space, and achieve the desired design aesthetic of the home. The goal with each project is to provide the homeowner with not just design direction, but design knowledge to make their home a space they love.

Amanda Murray, owner and interior stylist of The Designed Home, believes a well
designed home happens when the required function of the space is paired with the
aesthetic elements that bring beauty to the space. It doesn’t have to be expensive, just
thought out and executed, one project at a time. Amanda has worked within the design industry for the past 18 years. Her artistic and creative nature provide her with an innate ability with color and scale. After receiving her bachelors degree in interior design, these skills were fine tuned from her years of product development at a high end pillow and bedding manufacturing company here in VA. Her days were filled with pairing fabrics to create custom pillow designs, merchandising the designed pillows at countless trade shows, and working with interior designers and retailers to curate the best pillow collection for their design projects. While balancing family and motherhood, Amanda shifted her design skills to project management with product sourcing and procurement for an interior design firm. During this time, she also learned what a home needs to function well for those who live there and how to incorporate it into the aesthetic design of the home. It is now her passion to use the skills she has honed over the years to provide design plans to clients so they too can have a well designed home.
